If you missed the last post about Berlin, scroll down on this page and it should be there. If it's not there,
check it out here.
After Berlin, I caught a train to Munich. Here's some of what I saw:
Frauenkirche, Marienplatz |
Neues Rathas ("New Town Hall"), Marienplatz |
Neues Rathaus, Marienplatz |
Neues Rathaus Glockenspiel, Marienplatz |
Altes Rathaus, Marienplatz |
Karlstor ("Karl's Gate") |
Nationaltheater |
Viktualienmarkt. This was taken around 2pm on a Tuesday. It's usually much busier. |
Muenchner Stadtmuseum ([MSM] "Munich City Museum") |
Isidor Bach sportsware advertisement, MSM |
Zoological Garden poster, MSM |
Voelkerschau ("human zoo") poster, MSM. Unfortunately, this is exactly what it sounds like. These were very popular during the 19th and early 20th centuries in Europe and the United States. The ironic thing, however, is that while the white Europeans and Americans gawked at people from Africa or other strange lands, they were completely oblivious to the hilarity of their own facial hair. |
Monopteros, Englischer Garten, Munich's largest park. |
Chinesischer Turm ("Chinese Tower"), Englischer Garten. |
Eisbach ("ice brook") warning sign, Englischer Garten |
Eisbach, Englischer Garten |
Eisbach, Englischer Garten |
Englischer Garten |
Munich and the Alps |
